I have been using this for over two weeks now and have finally emptied the second bottle so I thought I’d share my experience with it.
It’s a personal preference to keep my skin lighter – I say lighter because I realize my natural skintone is medium, almost tan, so my skin can never ever be white. I’ve come to accept that. I have unevenly toned skin, with dark spots concentrated on my knees and elbows which, no matter how much attention I’ve focused on it, remains darker than the rest of my body.
Fortunately I got the chance to try Avon’s Skin So Soft Glutathione Whitening Renewal Hand & Body Lotion (phew that’s a mouthful) courtesy of Glamourbox’s March 2013 box. I use it twice daily, one in the morning before going out, and in the evening before going to sleep. I use about a peso-sized amount on each arm or leg.
The formula is light, not sunblock-dense, and is quickly absorbed by the skin. And it’s got a wonderful smell that I noticed immediately on first use, and so did my husband who loved it. There is no greasy afterfeel which is great considering the recent humid/hot weather.

This is the bold claim from Avon – that in less than a week, in fact immediately after applying the lotion, you’ll notice a difference. The first claim proved to be true. Upon application I noticed that my skin was slightly lighter without any unnatural whitish cast. This was true of every single use.
However, after two weeks of use, I didn’t see any noticeable permanent whitening of my skin. I didn’t get any darker after swimming/going to the beach – so perhaps it had offset any additional darkening. Would I purchase the full size bottle / continue to use it? I’m inclined to say yes, primarily because I love the instant glowing-skin effect, but also, I’m curious to see if further use will lead to that promised whiter skin.
